Suggested Activities

As we move into Book 4 of the series, there is an improvement in the inclusion of historical people and places enriching the story. A few ideas we gleaned for you include:

  • Napoleon invaded Egypt 1798

  • Sennari House (page 16) Haret Monge

  • Napoleonís scholars created Egyptology -
    is this true?

  • Look at chapter 5 inventions: wow!
    Can you make your own?

  • Sakhet

  • Queen Nefertari

  • Temple of Hatshepsut

  • Rosetta Stone p. 118

  • Philae Island under water p. 136

  • The Egyptian board game Senet: this is a blast to play! Try it!

  • Salah ad-din (p. 183) Muslim commander who built the Citadel in 1176.

Look at the page #ís again in this chapter. As in past books, these did not seem to fit in with the chapters or information in the story. These hieroglyphics were different than items in the story too. Are they connected to website games? Play the online game connected to the books and find out!
